LOAD RESPONSE Module
Validate Wind Turbine Loads with Speed and Precision
The LOAD RESPONSE module provides easy-to-use calculations of fatigue loads for IEC 61400-1, ed. 4 (2019) ed. 3 (2010) or ed. 2 (1999) site suitability assessment. The module includes generic turbine models representing typical turbines on the market, and manufacturers can easily implement their own in-house turbine models
Certified, reliable fatigue load assessments — built into your site suitability workflow.
Load Calculations in Seconds
The LOAD RESPONSE module performs fast and accurate fatigue load assessments as part of IEC 61400-1 site suitability evaluations (Editions 2, 3, and 4). Whether your SITE COMPLIANCE results show borderline exceedances or you need a thorough analysis of turbine durability, LOAD RESPONSE provides the clarity and confidence you need — in just seconds per turbine.
- Assess key components: blades, tower, shaft, nacelle
- Generate normalised load indices for each turbine
- Easily spot where design loads are exceeded
- Integrated seamlessly into the SITE COMPLIANCE module
Smart Design with Generic Turbine Models
Included in LOAD RESPONSE are several validated generic turbine models, allowing developers and consultants to evaluate loads even in early planning stages. These cover a wide range of turbines, including:
- Rotor Diameter ≥ 160m
- Rotor Diameter ≥ 90m (standard & direct drive)
- Rotor Diameter < 90m
- With and without carbon blades
Use them to refine your layout, improve land use, and reduce iteration in the development phase. Generic model results are validated against real-world turbines for high reliability.
Support for Manufacturer-Specific Models
Turbine manufacturers can implement their own custom turbine models using internal aeroelastic simulations and post-processing tools. These proprietary models are:
- Easy to create in-house
- Protected with strong encryption and license control
- Fully controlled by the manufacturer (including sharing rights)
This gives OEMs a secure way to speed up internal assessments and collaborate with trusted partners.
Backed by Research
LOAD RESPONSE is built on response surface methodology developed in collaboration with Aalborg University and EMD, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark.
Integrated Reporting
The output is fully incorporated into the SITE COMPLIANCE report, displaying load indices for all main components and turbines — clearly indicating where structural limits are respected or exceeded.
Strengthen your project with early load analysis
Take control of turbine selection, layout optimisation, and project compliance with fast load calculations.
