EMD holds the D-seal

EMD International has been awarded the D-seal, the Danish labelling programme for IT security and responsible use of data. The D-seal was founded by leading Danish business and consumer organisations: the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Danish Chamber of Commerce, SMEdenmark, the Danish Consumer Council and the Danish Business Promotion Board.

What it means

To earn the D-seal, a company must meet requirements in four areas:

• IT security: protecting our systems and data against threats
• Privacy: handling personal data carefully and in line with GDPR
• Fair treatment of customers: being transparent and fair in how data and algorithms are used
• Data ethics: making responsible choices about how data is collected and used

The requirements depend on the company’s risk profile. An independent auditor checks that they are met, and the seal must be renewed regularly.
