Who should attend?
The course is aimed at windPRO users focusing on wind projects without wind data from site, i.e. scouting and greenfield scenarios. Obviously, results based on these methodologies can only be considered as preliminary.
Prerequisites
windPRO BASIS course. Taking the windPRO EYA course beforehand can help you better understand the content of this course, but it is not mandatory.
What you will learn
- Overview of wind data available for prospecting in windPRO: the Global Atlas of Siting Parameters (GASP), EMD-WRF mesoscale data and windPROSPECTING
- Fundamentals of flow modelling. Procedure of downscaling EMD-WRF mesoscale data to microscale
- Procedure of calibrating the mesoscale data using distant masts
- Generation of wind resource map using downscaled and calibrated wind model
- Preliminary micrositing/positioning of the wind turbines
- Preliminary AEP estimates
