Who should attend?
The course is aimed at windPRO users interested in learning how to do offshore energy yield assessments.

windPRO BASIS course + windPRO Energy Yield Assessment (EYA) course

What you will learn

• What is special about energy yield calculations offshore
• Influence of waves and tide
• We look at different scenarios concerning location and data availability
• How to use data from floating LiDAR technology
• Access to mesoscale data, time series and wind resource maps
• Calibration of mesoscale data as well as long-term correction (MCP) of local LiDAR data
• Accessing and using mesoscale data offshore
• How do you include terrain when all you see is water?
• We will run calculations in three specific scenarios: No data are available, poor or non-local data are available and good local data are available
• Optimise offshore wind farm layouts based on two different criteria: maximise Annual Energy Production (AEP) and minimise Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) using cost maps
• Offshore relevant losses: wakes, curtailment and performance losses
• How to deal with uncertainties? The uncertainties that can be calculated and those that are harder to assess
