Who should attend?
The course is aimed at experienced windPRO users who want to gain advanced expertise in analyzing SCADA and operational data from wind turbines.
Prerequisites:
BASIS and EYA courses, or experienced users with a good understanding of the: BASIS module (UI, object details, object layers, etc.), importing wind data in the Meteo object, and time-varying energy calculations in windPRO.
What you will learn:
- Import and analyse wind turbine SCADA data in windPRO
- Evaluate lost production
- Calculate the expected future yield through a post-construction energy yield assessment (PCYA)
- Calibrate wind models with the purpose of repowering or developing new neighbouring projects
What NOT to expect:
The following are not addressed in this course: monitoring of wind turbines, power-curve verification, impact of performance upgrades, and guidance on loss and uncertainty values to use specifically for your projects/geographies.
What you will learn (details):
- Analyse SCADA data: import production data, error codes, and wind data to analyze and understand the performance of the wind turbines.
- Substitute missing/erroneous data using the TR10 methodology to create as complete a time series as possible for the assessment.
- Evaluate losses using error codes: Quantify how much energy has been lost by using error codes and compare the actual and potential production.
- Calculate the expected future yield: Project the actual production and losses into the future (PCYA) with lower uncertainty estimates than in pre-construction EYAs.
- Calibrate wind models: Lowering the uncertainty for repowering projects or developing new neighbouring projects by using actual production data to calibrate the wind model.
