On request from windPRO users working on offshore wind farm developments around the globe, the online-data services in windPRO 3.2+ now offers two bathymetry models: One with Pan-European coverage and grid resolution 230m; the other with global coverage and at a coarser 1km grid-resolution. Water depth data are accessed from the elevation-grid object ā with [ā¦]
We have updated the windPRO online-data services with the newest version of the āEMODnet Digital Bathymetry (DTM)ā. This dataset is a combination of many surveys that cover the water depths for Europeās sea basins. The 2022-release is a revised version of the 2020, 2018 and 2016 datasets ā with more surveys included (21937 in total [ā¦]
SARAH-3 is a climate data record from EUMETSAT CM SAF that provides high-resolution solar irradiation data for Europe and Africa. It is replacing SARAH-2 which is no longer being updated forward in time. Our online-data teamĀ has assessed this dataset: Compared to in-situ data and reference data, both SARAH datasets show a reliable and stable performance, [ā¦]
2023-11-27@10:30-12:50: Online data services through windPRO, energyPRO and EMD-API have been down due to a network outage from our service-provider, Netic. Services have been restored, but may be unstable. Luckily this happens very rarely ā but do feel free to contact our support hotline in case you experience any further issues support@emd.dk
windPRO now includes an option to run WakeBlaster, a new wake model. WakeBlaster is a numerical solver of the 3-dimensional Reynolds averaged Navier Stokes equations, specialized in wind turbine wakes. But what is new? No more superposition: Instead of modelling single turbine wakes and superimposing them empirically, WakeBlaster models the whole waked wind field in [ā¦]
The āNear-Global Forest Canopy Heights GLADā dataset is developed from a fusion of GEDI lidar data (Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation Lidar) and Landsat imagery data. It has a near-global spatial coverage ranging from latitudes S52.0 to N52.0, and it reflects the 95% relative height of the canopy with a 25m ground area footprint. The GEDI [ā¦]
ETH forest canopy heights ā global coverage and high-resolution ā now in windPRO! If you are analysing wind farms at forested sites in any part of the world, then a high-resolution canopy height dataset is now available: āGlobal Sentinel-2 10m Canopy Height (ETH Zurich)ā. The dataset is created by a team of ETH researchers using [ā¦]

EMD has evaluated the annual tree-growth using the recent Finnish LUKE data from 2021 comparing it to 2015 data. As seen from graph below, average tree growth is positive for trees with a height to about 15m, then it becomes negative (on average) due to tree-felling and active forestry. Only areas marked with āForestā as [ā¦]
